I’ve never written about manifestation on the blog before, but it’s something I’m really interested in and passionate about. Over the past few months I’ve manifested some really amazing things, so I thought now would be a good time to share some tips and secrets. Plus I’d be remiss not to share the people and resources I’ve found to be very helpful in my journey to learning more about manifestation and the role it can play in our lives. I’ve broken this blog post up into a few sections, and will go over the manifestation tips I use that have quite literally changed my life.
Journaling
Every morning I try to journal as part of my morning rituals. It doesn’t always happen but that’s okay, we aren’t perfect. When I do journal, I free write “morning pages” first. This is a practice I learned from doing The Artist’s Way 12-week journey. Free writing gets all those little worries and concerns out of your head before the day begins. It’s actually an amazing way to feel liberated from any anxiety and come up with fresh ideas you didn’t even know you had. The goal is three pages, but again – it’s better to get something down rather than nothing. If you need help starting to journal, there’s a post I wrote for Society19 that might help.
After I write my morning pages, I write down:
- 3 things I’m grateful for + why (for at least one of them)
- 10 “I am” statements (for example: “I am healthy” or “I am capable”)
- “I have received” statements (as many as I want)
I am grateful for…
Living with gratitude is a huge part of cultivating abundance and the feeling that you have everything you need. The opposite of this is a lack mindset – where all you focus on are the things you don’t have but that you want or need. Operating with a lack mindset is one of the worst things you can do for yourself, which is why writing down a few things you’re grateful for every morning can help you start the day with gratitude. Knowing that what you have is enough and recognizing all of the beautiful things you have can help you live a happier life.
I am…
The “I am” statements are powerful and my day is always better when I write them down. Reaffirming things like health, safety, and love can help you have a healthier mindset and really ward off anything negative. Make sure to write “I am healthy” instead of “I am not sick.” Using positive words and associations is much better.
I have received…
This is one gratitude trick that honestly changed my life and has helped me manifest big things over the last few months, including a new job, flights, and an opportunity to return to Italy this summer (I’m too excited not to share!). Whatever you are working on manifesting, whether it’s money to pay back student loans or a job in a new city, writing down “I have already received” or simply “I have received” can help you manifest these things quickly. The important part is to be as specific as you can. For example, you could say “I have received $10,000 to pay back my student loans.” Keeping things specific will help you manifest exactly what you want.
Vision Board
Manifestation relies on the belief that you create your reality. One way you can use this idea or put it into practice is with vision boards. What you see reflects back, and eventually the intentions and goals you place on your vision board will come true in real life. I’ve been making vision boards, or mood boards, for a few years now. Every time I take down the old pieces to replace them with new vision, I see just how much has come true. With my own vision boards I’ve manifested a return to Italy (twice now!) and my upcoming Italian summer. Hopefully a trip to Greece, too! What you see eventually becomes your reality. It’s a beautiful process.
My Guides
I have learned so much from a few people that I’d like to share and credit with this knowledge. One major person who has inspired me to manifest (and really helped me solidify my plans to move to Rome) is Zoey Arielle. Her Instagram and YouTube are a big source of positivity and outside the box revelations that I appreciate and that have helped me grow as a person. Zoey co-hosts the Lo and Zo Show, which is a podcast with Lauren Saunders. I have learned most of my manifestation tricks from this podcast, as well as more general knowledge on how we create our reality. You should definitely give their podcast a listen if you’re curious about manifestation and the power of visualization.
