5 things I can’t travel without

After traveling in Europe for nine days, I’ve decided what my latest “can’t travel without” items are. Being on-the-go for that long really helped me determine what the necessities were. I tried to be a minimalist (to be honest I just wanted optimal room for souvenirs and some new clothes, haha!).

Going into the trip I had thought nine days would be way too short, but it ended up being perfect! I mean, ideally we would have had more time, but I found myself feeling like we had so much time while we were there. Usually I’m already feeling sad about going home on the first day! I’ve always been like that, but on longer trips that feeling doesn’t come up until the last day or two, thankfully.

EO Spray Hand Sanitizer

I can’t remember which other blogger gave me this idea (maybe Grace Atwood?) but I am now obsessed with traveling with this. I bought mine at my local co-op and it is perfect for travel because you can spray it everywhere (i.e. airplane tray tables). Plus its made from essential oils, and the peppermint is a soothing scent, also good for curing headaches!

Aveda Shampure Dry Shampoo

My friend and I flew out of MSP during the government shutdown, and thus were anxious about how long the TSA lines would be. So, as any good traveler would, we arrived very early to the airport. The result…too much time for airport purchases. LOL! But seriously, what a great way to waste time in the airport by learning more about Aveda products and getting a free hair consultation. I love all of their products! I ended up buying their shampure dry shampoo because it smelled amazing, and as any girl knows, a good dry shampoo is the best travel companion.

Jam Audio Noise-Cancelling Headphones

These are on the list of any traveler for good reason. I’ve had mine for over a year and they are truly a game changer on airplanes, I can’t convince you enough!!! I know people like their Airpods, but I prefer the cushion of an over-the-ear pair of headphones.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray

Doubles as a perfume when you’ve clocked 20 hours of travel and smell like an airplane. Or when you end up on a spontaneous date after a long day of sightseeing and walking too many miles in the sun. I prefer the one with rose water because its great for spritzing on your face to set your makeup, and it always makes me feel fresh as a garden rose!

Mophie Mobile Charger

Want to hear a travel horror story? Our flight from JFK to Dublin was delayed. Instead of charging my phone and headphones in the airport, I mindlessly ate kettle corn and tried not to fall asleep, figuring the plane would have a USB port. Well, it didn’t! So I then found myself on a seven-hour flight with a dying phone and headphones whose noise-cancelling feature would not work because they were out of battery. Insert mobile charger to save the day, or night (it was a red-eye). Thinking I’m going to upgrade mine before my next trip to one with even more power, because I always end up borrowing mine to my travel buddies and losing out. It’s hard to be generous!
