Simple, thoughtful upgrades from Ikea

do you ever just let yourself wander through ikea?

I don’t know about you, but I’ve spent A LOT of time in my room since late February. A room I hadn’t even planned on being in for so long…finally I decided to allow myself to buy a few new things to upgrade my space & my lifestyle (like a few new items for all the picnics I’ve been having). It feels good to just treat yourself to some new things every now and then, especially if they only cost a few dollars and especially with how bland life has been lately.

My brother is getting married next weekend, so I was at ikea picking up a few frames for the rehearsal dinner tables (I’m helping with that part of the weekend). While I was there, I took my time and grabbed a few things for myself. I thought I’d share to inspire you all if you need a spruce up too!

smula tray

For picnics or days where I want to work from my bed.

paper napkins

For my picnics.

bottle with stopper

Also for picnics. We always had two of these in the fridge in Rome, how I miss the water from the aqueducts there!

cooler bag

You guessed it, for picnics. And the beach!! It’s just the right size with a long shoulder strap.

place mat

I bought two so I could have a pair for when I’m hopefully living on my own soon. In the meantime, I like to use them to make my desk look nicer. I love the faux leather look of this one.

clear glass

Since the heat has been unbearable lately, I’ve been putting my espresso over ice. This glass is perfect for that, or a glass of wine. 😉

posters

The poster with the oranges caught my eye, and they were on major discount so I went for it.

bucket hat

Just for fun! No but seriously people went crazy when I posted about these new hats made out of the famous blue and yellow Ikea bags. I decided to scoop one up for white elephant, Christmas 2020.
