Where I traveled in 2018

…and 2017, and where I’m going in the next

I decided to make this list a part of my New Years tradition from now on, because trips are often times the highlights of the year for me, mixed with all the other memorable happenings.

Speaking of New Years, my cousin and I started a fun tradition last year of going out for a nice dinner and capping the evening with limoncello toasts. We talk about what we’re excited to leave behind in the past year, what we liked best about the year, and what we’re most looking forward to in the new year. Once we’ve both shared, we toast and take a sip of our limoncello.

It’s the perfect way to reflect and set an intention for the next year. An evaluation of the bad and the good, and a positive start to the year. We based these different toasts off of our cousin birthday questions we do every year. Basically the same idea, and we end with everyone saying what they love about the birthday girl. It’s one of my favorite traditions!! And again, an intentional and positive way to send someone into another year of their life.

Some memories never leave your bones. Like salt in the sea; they become part of you. And you carry them.
